• Tiffer Robinson

    Vicar

    Our Vicar, Tiffer Robinson has been in post since October 2022. Before ordination Tiffer was training to be an Electronic Engineer when he felt called by God to become a Vicar. After training at Ridley Hall he spent 13 years serving in a number of churches in rural Suffolk. He is excited to be leading these congregations in sharing the good news of God’s love in Christ with the people of Bury St Edmunds.

    Associate Vicar

    Andy is Associate Vicar with responsibility for St Peter’s Church, our other church. Before ordination Andy was Youth Pastor at St John’s Church, Woodbridge.
    Andy is passionate about the Bible and helping all people know the God revealed within it

  • Hazel Humphreys

    Lay Pastor

    Hazel has been a Lay Pastor in this parish for over 20 years and is keen to help our community to care for one another. Showing the love of God can help His people to develop a meaningful relationship with Him. She enjoys training and supporting teams to do this through a variety of activities, especially visiting.

  • Sarah Gull

    Assistant Curate

    Sarah is an assistant curate at St Mary’s. She worked at the West Suffolk Hospital for many years in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is involved in running a number of ministries at St Mary’s including our Pop-in cafe and the Stewarding and Gardening groups. She is also a vounteer chaplain at St Nicholas Hospice.

    Church Administrator

    Katie keeps St Mary’s running smoothly and is usually the first port of call for anything to do with the office here. She coordinates and publishes the newsletter and puts together all of our regular services and much more besides.

    Events Manager and TCC Bookings

    Jackie arranges all of our special events in church that fall outside of our regular services. Please contact Jackie about concerts, weddings, funerals, and civic services. Jackie also coordinates the bookings for our parish centre the Thomas Clarkson Centre, and is our PCC Secretary.

    Church Warden

    Brian became a churchwarden in 2021. He was a GP in the town for 30 years but only moved to live in Bury 8 years ago.

  • Jim Herrington

    Worship Leader

    Jim has been leading the worship team at the 9.15 service since 2010. He has literally been at St Mary's all of his life, starting first at 'Children’s Church' in the 1960s and then joining the choir in 1969 where he was Head Chorister. In the 1980s and 1990s he ran the highly successful Church Youth Group, and he has also run a small group for young adults.

    Choir Director

    Chris started worshipping here when he joined the choir in 1983. He was one of the choristers for many years, and took over as Choir Director in 2018. His main passion within ministry is bringing the word of God to the various congregations, through music.

  • Paul Beddoe

    Organist

    Paul became known to St Mary’s over 5 years ago. Paul plays in various churches in Bury St Edmunds and nearby. Paul retired from a career in education in July 2017.

  • DB Di Blasio

    Director Of Music

    DB took up the position of Director of Music at St Mary's in February 23. At St Mary’s he is responsible for the recruitment, training and nurture of the children and adults who make up the church choir.
