Welcome

St Mary’s is distinctive for three reasons:

We are a lively Christian community in the evangelical tradition of the Church of England, expressing our praise through contemporary worship as well as our established choral tradition.


We are the parish church for most of Bury St Edmunds, and a place where many experience key moments in life including thanksgivings, baptisms, weddings and funerals.


Our unique medieval building, one of the largest church buildings in the country, is a popular visitor destination and the civic church for the town, as well as enjoying strong links with local military organisations.

The Bible Course

We are running the Bible Course on Thursday evenings in September and October, starting on 10 September, at 7 for 7:30pm in St Mary’s. This would be excellent for anyone new to the Bible, or who hasn’t managed to join a discipleship group (home group etc) yet, but will also be helpful for everyone.
