St Mary’s Hire

St Mary’s Church is a remarkable venue for concerts and other public events. The church can seat an audience of 500.

With effect from 1 January 2026, the following hire charges will apply.

£375 for use of the church for one session of up to four hours.

£270 for use of the church for additional sessions of up to four hours each.

A 40% discount may be applied on request where the proceeds are used entirely for charitable purposes.

Additional charges are not subject to discount.

£107 for the use of staging or if pews need moving to increase performance area.

£43 for use of organ or grand piano.

£43 for use of the kitchen.

Organist’s fee - £89 minimum, depending on requirements (plus additional charges for any rehearsal time).

Verger’s fee (payable for the entire period of your booking) - £33 plus £14 per hour.

Sound desk operator / second verger’s fee - £33 plus £14 per hour.

Additional heating where required during rehearsal time - £50 per hour.
